Hi All,
I'm interested in the Berghaus Vulcan. I've always wanted one since I was a kid. I have a few questions regarding the harness. I know the pack is a hit on the forum, so hopefully some owners can help me out.
Does it have a lumbar pad? It's hard to tell from photos whether the back panel is flat or balloons out near the bottom.
How does the harness compare to modern rucksacks in terms of load carrying.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, It's hard to tell from the photo whether the lumbar area sticks out. I've been searching the net for a profile shot of the back system.

Personally I'm very fond of the Vulcan. It's straight forward, confortable. The importatnt thing is the sizing, it comes in 4 sizes, 4 being the longest back. In other words: it is not adjustable. The back padding is pretty flat with a V shape profile towards the shoulder straps.
