One for the leather workers the buckle has broken on my leather belt ;what is the best way to remove the old rivets? Any help would be appreciated thank you.

I find drilling them out and then removig stubborn bit of metal with pincers or pliers usually works....
Work from the back so that and slips are hidden in wear :)

I take a small, fine saw and, after having carefully pried the adjoining pieces of leather a little bit apart with a small screwdriver, saw through the body of the rivet.
Then you can easily sew everything back together by hand, since rivets are BAD :)

I agree. Got to be one of the easiest ways and still looks good from the front especially if you start knocking the rivets out with a punch from the back after drilling (so you can get a grip with the pliers):)
