The human mind cannot cope with that many acquaintances. It's about numbers justifying your self worth Then it becomes about money when you're followers hit magic numbers. Then you're into a race to become a professional influencer.

Shallow and false worth.

It reminds me when I was on FB and met up with real mates Some would discuss how many friends they had on FB. I joined in and was proud to say that most of my friends were in the room. The only FB friends not there were family. They looked at me as some weirdo. It was shortly after I tore the retarded, reactionary bloke a new one on his public FB post that was offensive in a very racist way. I got a load of likes from his FB friends (not just mine).

I then deactivated FB account.
That's rather sad actually, implies that a lot of the follows are either waiting for a fall, be it at their own or someone else's. Modern animal baiting. A lot of these people who get followed are exhibitionist or extroverts as far as I can tell, ordinary doesn't get followed I suppose.

The other nearly depressing matter is how a lot of people, in coffee break discussions, are talking about all these celebrities like they're important to everyone. That's younger people. I work with a 25 and 18 year old in the office. Their banter is full of discussion of these Instagram models and influencers. At the best they talk about x factor type reality shows including love Island or whatever it is called. Then Google news feed has entertainment section that's just about the love life of celebrities I've never heard of. The ones who went on a dating TV show and are sleeping around. I've never had interest in any of that. I try to select the "not interested" option But nothing happens.
