i used the fox 3 part system : hammock, net (with under hammock straps) and camouflage basha. bought in 2009 for about £115 from cadet direct. it arrived with a cut (sliced halfway through) cord (high grade webbing) on one end of the hammock but this was so far up the cord that it didn't actually bother me when wrapping around trees. i used this on a 4 month trip from Argentina to French Guiana by bicycle. when set up properly, the system works brilliantly in terms of keeping you dry and discreet (the first night used i had to really look for it after going for a wash). The whole system is light enough and fit in an old shoulder bag -12x10 inches.
On the downside, it takes a lot of getting used to to sleep in mummy position but that's the best way given the hammock size. also a thermarest or some such padding is essential (i didn't use a sleeping bag).
one or two mosquitoes will always find a way in to any system. as they do with this one, usually through the holes where the hammock goes through, however a little bit of 100%deet before you go to sleep rubbed on any vulnerable /exposed parts should keep you ok...
