Thanks Steve :)
I did wonder, but the article was on about the fuel not the new cooker base thing.

I missed the review

I unintentionally ended up doing a mini review of the cooker and gel here: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112211

Hi,
Nice review on the cooker.

Well i have a play with the ring thing and this is what i came up with . The metal that i used was off a sky dish , maybe one of our metal worker could take this idea on.

I have used zip ties to hold it closed

It just fits inside

Then fits on the bottom for storage.
As said, i've only play with it.

Cheers

That's better than the Crusader 2! Have the joins longer and rivet together? A cracking ideal though bud.

Thanks mate,

I think s/steel would be a better job and wielded. Maybe not so many holes in it for a better wind shield ?

Hmm, possibly, it would be neater but the Crusader 2 is ali albeit anodised. If it improves heat channeling and provides a modicum of wind resistance (a bit of the ultra light foil stuff could provide the real deal), I think you might have yourself a seller there bud.
