im going to be using my new basha for the first time this weekend. ive been looking for some pitching instructions. i found this it made me laff its got funny music. but its too fast to see what happening. theres knot pictures as well but i havent tried them yet.

That's quite a good site actually - still having a look round. The knot images they show are the ones Ray Mears shows in his book I think - they're well illustrated on this site.

okay that is great ill try to learn them for this weekend. im slow with knots (and everything else) but i always get there in the end...

Thanks for the Outdoor Idiots link.
At last the Evenk knot is a mystery no more. All the illustrations I've seen to date have been unclear despite me being confident with many other knots - I just couldn't see the sleight-of-hand that formed the middle stage.

Have you tried the one handed version that falconers use. It is designed to be used when you have a bird of prey on your glove. I found it easy (picked it up in about 30 seconds). Never bothered with Evenk version.

i used my new basha last weekend. i tied everything up like it said and i practiced the knots at home. it worked ok. its complicated and i dont think i got the second knot around the tree right but i did something that worked. im going to check though cos i want to do it properly. ill try to do that falconners knot as well.
