Just got back today after spending 2 great weeks in Skye.

it as been 2 weeks of brilliant bushcrafting, and would recommend going to anyone!

will post some more pics when I wake up(just drove for 12 hours :D )

Great stuff - just back from there myself. It's an impressive island, even with the weather we've been having! We got pretty much blown off our campsite in Portree (well, Torvaig Campsite) - how did you fair?

Did little bits of buschcrafty stuff, but mostly we just walked and saw the sights.

will do in time :D

the weather was pants, but that as never stopped me :D

the weather just adds more challenges :D .

I went climbing up the cuillins with a guide called Tony Hanly, who was a also an ex-squaddie, and also a member of the Mountain Rescue.

he was a cracking fella, and was made up when I gave him some MRE's :D

he had some great storys!

he had to climb the highest peak Sgurr Alisdair three times in one day to rescue stranded climbers

(I climbed it once, and that was bad enough :) )

he also told me of some Japanese tourists who called up for an helicopter to take them of the cuillins, because they were too tired to walk to the car park (they were 2 miles away :) )

this was me up the Inaccessable Pinnacle (986metres)

it was a bit of an hairy day, and unfortunatley a fell runner went missing the same day, and asn't been found yet :(

it just shows you how small we are

Well done my friend, at least you couldnt see down the sides of the InPin due to the fog. I consider the Cullins some of the best climbing/walking in the British Isles and can be a bit hairy at times, luckily you had someone to show you the way. In my opinion, once you have done Skye the rest is pants (British Isles).

it is a fantastic place, and would recommend anyone going up in the hills alone, to get a guide (65 quid is better than thousands of pounds spent on the rescue effort).

without a guide, i would have followed harder routes!, the guides know all the easier routes( still hard :D )
