Hi there fella's :)

I found this beuty in a second hand shop. It was all rusted, but after cleaning up, reshaping, polishing, rehandling I came up with this:

I would like to know more about the maker. Maybe you could help???

OK, this I tell: "800" is the weight. In triangle there is "1", what could this mean? And the maker mark is made of: Two pillars on the both sides (with sort of holles on the bottom of each), top says "ES" (my best guess), and in the bottom something like "HH" (but it's only guess). Things to that shop comes from Germany. This all could be wrong if it's from Asia ... I need your help :D :D

Thanks

mate you have made a outstanding job of that very impressed, love that axe, i can't help with the id, but had to say what a job you have made of it.

bb07, that looks simmilar, but nothing with direct referance. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm/

I'm at a loss as to who the maker of your axe is(fantastic job refinishing it, by the way)
The first thing that popped into my head when seeing your photos was that it was a Mueller, but now I'm not so sure. While there are similarities, there are also the marking differences. Might it be possible that it is a Mueller, but perhaps made long ago?
Hopefully someone else will come forth with knowledge as to the maker. Maybe send the photos to Mueller http://www.mueller-hammerwerk.at/hammerwerk/index.html and see if they can help?
Lacking that, all I can suggest is to post inquiries on other forums where someone may recognize it. Good luck-I too would be interested in it's origins.
