AW Tamarack Knives

For any folk interested, Alan is making a short run of 10 knives for Tamarack again. They have been in business for 10 years so have commissioned these knives to celebrate.

For anyone not familiar with the knife, Tamarack used to have small batches in for sale until AW had to stop due to other commitments. It was one of my favourite designs and I regret selling my original one. The shape is a little weird, but it's brilliantly usable.

The centre one is a Woodlore for scale.

Any ideas when they will be up for grabs? I'm interested. Do you know what thickness and type of steel is used? O1? Something different? 3mm? 4mm? The blade shape reminds me a little of the Bayley Bear Grylls monster but I would imagine that this Tamarack one will be great to use. Any further info. on when it'll be ready to go would be great.

Darn it - I'm too late! Hardly surprising, given the maker, the design and the tiny number of them!

They are 3mm 01 tool steel with tapered tang and scandi grind. The wood is stabilised Masur Birch and tehy come in leather sheath with firesteel loop and secondary swivel.
