Lost in the woods
Tree guys were working in my road today, so I ask if I could have a piece of Elm if I de bark it, now that might come tomorrow as one of the men said have some of the Cherry that was in the back of the pick up truck. It was heavier than it looks, have a look yourself.
What a luck man I am today.

You are indeed lucky if it was dead standing. Cherry can split badly whilst its drying so part/seasoned logs are a real bonus. :)

What are you going to make from it?

I boiled my spoon in salt water following a tip on here and it didn't split despite being carved minutes from being on the tree. Would it have split anyway? Dunno... Will i do it again? Probably.

What will I do with it, well offer a piece to my bimble buddies Kepis & Rockmonkey.
Next up a plate for camp and some spatulas, spoons galore.
I would like to make another kuksa from it but last time carving cherry two out of three split, mind you I do like a challenge.
I believe this piece of wood has no small branches coming off so should be knot free.
