Ash Platter and Burl Bowl

[Seoras]

Started these two pieces last year and put them aside for the winter but forgot about them.

Dug them out this weekend and cracked on with some serious carving.

I cannot remember the type of wood at present as I found it a couple of years ago.

I sealed it with Beeswax as it was leaking like a sieve. It did not leak at all (the leaves are floating on the water).

I will possibly just oil it to finish unless anyone can tell me of anything else to do with the Burl.

Very lovely, I like both pieces, that platter feels very plain with just the beautiful grain; then the bowl is almost exotic with all the colours. Love them .
