They are very pretty knives and I do like Opinels. One of mine is a limited edition 1992 Albertville Winter Olympic knife. And for years it sat in a drawer in it's box never being used. But like you I felt that it needed to get out of the house and earn it's keep, which it does admirably.

Ah, the Albertville Olympics - I was there!
A friend won a Chalet Holiday for 12 in the 3 Vallees over the duration of the Winter Olympics ...and invited me and the Mrs along - flights , Ski lessons, all lift passes everything bar event tickets and one meal for FREE!
I nicked one of the big blue "Welcome" flags and bought a white beret with the Albertville Winter Olympic logo as souvenirs - missed out on the Opinel....
