Here are a few pictures that I shot near my cabin in Arkansas. All of the photos were taken within 100 meters of the cabin with the exception of the last one.
I thought it would give you some idea of the diversity and beauty of the area. Hope you like them.
Typical fern of the area
Umbrella Magnolia
Mora Clipper for scale
Citronella bush. Really keeps the bugs away!
I believe these are young Pawpaw trees. They are a semitropical tree that has a somewhat banana like fruit.
"Hollow" or small canyon just east of my cabin
Large boulder near cabin, 4 ft. walking stick for scale
American Beech, a common tree found in the Ozarks
A deformed young beech, probably some interesting grain in those curves
An interesting stalked fern. The stalks were about one ft. high
Oddly shaped Beech
Very large, and no doubt very old, grape vine. Watch for scale
Sunlight coming through the forest canopy
Road to my cabin
River birch
Bit of local flavor; Oark, general store and cafe
