I’m probably showing my age here.

Do you arboriculturalists still use Arbrex cut sealer or similar?

Would you use it in an urban setting on a decorative cherry (Kaizen?).

There is silver leaf nearby.

I’m currently advising not to prune.
 
Way back in the late 80's was when we stopped using that stuff, it ends up including fungal spores and bacteria and sealing them in the cut. Only ever used a product called Lac Balsam (?), very occasionally on big cuts as it had proven more beneficial at encouraging callousing.

I'd prune a cherry late Summer, not at the moment, to avoid infection.

Thanks. I felled my last really big tree on 1976!!! I’ve not sealed any pruning since.
