Normally an Opinel #12 will do everything that I normally do outdoors and it fits my large hands.
However
For kitchen use I have cut a chefs knife square across so that it works as a knife, a scraper and a slice. It’sa very useful shape.

I have just come across the Mora Chisel which is the same shape, not too expensive and could help me in my pursuit of a wooden whistle/pipe.
I wouldn’t trust advertisers reviews anyway but there aren’t any on the supplier’s site.

Has anyone used one of these tools?

I looked at several reviews and several alternatives before I ordered this tool.
It’s arrived and it is a cracking little thing.

I’ll do a review of it, if anyone is interested, when I’ve used it properly.

One thing that was obvious right from the first time I read about it is that, as a knife, it is right handed. Non of the reviewers mention this. It’s no problem for me, my Tina grafting knives are right handed. One of my adapted Opinels is also right handed. The Mora chisel seems to be unique among its ilk in that both end and blade are asymmetrically ground - as is a normal chisel.

More later maybe. I’m off to play with it.
