Hi all. Just stumbled across the forums so thought i'd join and say hi. I've been walking for years and often go down to Dartmoor and Brecon in ALL weathers. My last trip was to Dartmoor in Dec/Jan 09. Spent a night on Hound Tor in 70mph winds. I like to put in fairly big distances but always travel light!!
Anyway, look forward to chatting to some of you guys, particularly if you frequent Dartmoor!

WOW. Great response already....thanks everyone. I've been out in -20 before (with wind chill). That was back in '91 when I was young, fit, stupid and wore a green hat! Cheers for the offre Mick, whereabouts are you roughly? I've stayed at Standon Farm a lot...it's very, very, very haunted if anyone's interested? There is a little wood next to the military accommodation. Apparantly it was used for sacrafices. I've had a few really scary experiences there and another on Woodbury common, near Exeter if anyone knows that area. What is it with Dartmoor/Devon and Witchcraft?
