Anyone here into mine exploration?

I used to go down the local mines when I was younger, really liked the archaeology you could find in them. Ive moved to a place without many mines, and I really miss it.

Ive been underground all over the Lakes, all mineral mines. Ive fou d a couple of possible sites near here, Ill head out whe the snow buggers off a bit.

Been down a couple of of old copper mines in the area, and as you say the archaeology is interesting, I think they date to the late 1800's, and a few rotting wooden ladders are still in place. The conditions those men had to work in was not nice.

Lots of mines in a place near Glyn Neath south Wales.



Took my two boys and their friend up there for the first time end of last year - torch off total blackness! They have bricked sectins up since I was last there but we used to up and sleep under an overhang of rock nearby and then spend ages exploring underground.

loads of mines and tunnels just above blaenau ffestioniog area, stumbled across them on a climbing trip and couldn't resist going down them, also plenty by cwmystwyth but those have been mostly fenced off now i believe
