I've just come across the lightweight electronic countermeasures (ECM) bergen made by Karrimor for the British Army. Apparently, they're made for ECM and radio equipment, but soldiers are preferring them over the regular issued packs.

Does anyone own one or know anything more about them? If someone does have one, could you please post some photos (especially of the inside), as I can't find many on the net?

Thanks!

Sorry, not to hand (on my phone now). There's a couple on eBay at the moment and some other online retailers sell them, though not in stock.

That's great. Thanks so much for doing that!

Doesn't look from the photos that it's really suitable for normal camping/hiking use really.

Really appreciate you going to all the effort. Thank you!

No problem, any excuse to got to RTI :D

It's made by Karrimor for the British Army.

Are the sides mesh, and is that the back that unzips and folds down?

Yep, it's so the ECM can cool down easier.

The back zips down just behind the side pocket zips.

Picked one of these up from RTI yesterday ,,,:)

Removed the back stays and banged it it the washer on a cold wash to get all the desert dust off it ...

Went to work and removed all the bits I didn't want ,,

Then stiched it back together

Side pouch zips removed I don't want them on it ,

Still opens right up

Nice 45 lt day sack with a proper back system

To be honest, I thinks that's just somebody trying hard at marketing them! I would struggle to see the value of a mesh pack in a temperate climate really.... Perhaps it could be made serviceable with the addition of a dry bag, buts its still a bit of a compromise.

If someone tells me the amount of webbing, width of webbing and gap between webbing on the ECM lid,. Then I could measure the same on the 45l PRI one
