Any good bushcrafting spots near York?

Next week I'm going down to York for a job interview. Of course one of my main criteria for even considering taking the job would be if there are any decent wildernessy places nearby where I can do some bushcrafting.

So Yorkshire folk, what say you?

plenty of places around the north yorkshire moors, careful though as the weather turns quickly, and even though it may look fine in the surrounding towns + villages be aware.
eg, It's been fine in scarborough but when traveling back across the moors it's been near impossible to cross back to pickering due to snow.
