The 'ert' there derives from 'art', it turns out :)

It can be entertaining to find a root .. like 'ject' (to throw) for example and examine the shifting senses of the term from the words built around it - abject, deject, project, retroject, inject, trajectory, project, object, reject, subject, conjecture, introject

Absolutely agree.

If you just take the Greek word 'Eu' which basically means " well, good " then see how many words have it at the start of them and how it affects the second word.

example -

Eulogy - literally " GOOD WORDS "
Euthanasia- "Good Death "

This one isn't an antonym, more a comparative or superlative. But the principle remains:

overwhelm/whelm

We've all been overwhelmed, but when was the last time you were just whelmed?
