As a more polite tangent - how about the following- if the forum is a monkeysphere of sorts - what has made you ( or others - more an open question ) put certain people on your personal 'ignore' list - which is effectively a conscious decision to exclude them from one owns monkeysphere.

Just wondering what makes people do that ? - I have 4/5 people on my ignore list

In an extreme case yes, because that’s what it could amount to of taken to a logical extreme, an extreme which we see is unfortunately played out on the news regularly. Gets dark pretty quick.

I haven’t been around here that long to be honest and prefer to try and keep up with people who seem interesting rather than not. Is definitely the case on other platforms/forums though.

I only have one person, because they were being deliberately rude and dishonest. They don’t post on the forum other when certain political things come up and it seems entirely just to agitate. There’s no point engaging with people like that.

I try to avoid using it otherwise, as I think it’s important I see points of view which might be outside my own currently held ones. Plus it’s important to build that resilience to annoying people without just living in a sterile bubble.

Dont really see or think how or why one may want to explore whom one would want to do that too on a public forum . Or the reasons why which could be hypothetically myriad.
