The way the british currency and the € are weighted, it could be quite cheap to shop on the continent. I found this shop and maybe someone is interested in what they are stocking:

For comparison, have a look at this stuff:

It is rated "B", which means it is used but without damages:

I ordered myself the Bivy Bag and will let you know about its shape.

How on earth did you find Raer? One of my favourite shops as it isn't that far to Hannover from here, and when I lived in Hameln I used to visit the shop in Hildesheim all the time, which is better then the Hannover branch IMO. They have some good quality kit in there, and I've seen almost new berghaus yeti gaiters in there for under 10 €!!

The staff are helpful and most speak good english, they also have a good amount of british kit due to the proximity to a garrison and skint soldiers who sell their kit to pay for the weekend!!

Small world - I've been there a couple of times too (the Hildesheim store just behind the train station). I've got some family in Hildesheim and try to visit Raeer every four years or so when I go to visit. Apparently the place has been there for years (from about mid 1940s) with this huge L-shape wooden counter in the corner.

They've got some amazing stock in-store, but I havn't had any experience buying from them on-line. The service was usually good (there was this one grumpy middle aged woman who should be avoided), as with most service in Germany. They used to do this catalogue with little drawings of every item of stock - it must have taken ages to do.

They still do catalogues, mostly photos now, but sometimes the hand drawings crop up! It's still in the same place aswell, the kids used to want to sit and watch the trains, it was all I could do to get them into the store!!
