You need help whipping the blade onto the elbow! Half that cord should have been enough to bend the blade shank to "sit down" in the seat.
It's a booger to do. I use #18 nylon, survey cord or tarred seine line. Leather gloves and pull like Hello.

What's the elbow? Looks like 60 degrees plus. 55 is plenty, many PacNW carvers claim that 45 is best (have not made that, myself.)

The spoon is a dream of a carving. Gorgeous. The stem design and the texturing are native classic.
That really is some kind of wood to show off your carving skill.
