Android offline navigation maps 2019

I ordered the water resistant smart phone Samsung X-Cover 4.

So far I understand it right, it's based on the Android system.

Which free ware offline navigation system maps for road and street navigation do you recommend to me?

Are hiking maps existing too?

I am mainly interested in maps for Germany, France and Western Europe, but I guess, what works well in Britain should work in the neighbour countries too.

I use maverick and back country navigator - both allow the download and storage of 1:25k OS mapping (which facilitates later offline use). They work very well indeed, and there are free versions - which are the only versions i've ever used.
