Got this sent to me by my Aunt today, I looked at it a few times before the penny dropped. Kinda clever in a way. Thought I'd mess with a few heads here with it too.

As a proud dyslexic, that was pretty easy!
Mesquite, you are soo right. I saw something similar whilst at university (a long time ago). Something about the importance of the content of the writing, not the spelling. It made me feel good for a while!

i do a similar thing when reading ,...with whole sentences, even paragraphs once i get into it..,....

think about it, no one actually spells out every letter of a word when reading it,....

the same can be applied to full sentences if they have a normal structure,

you see the key elements of a sentence and digest it whilst scanning the next one ,...and on and on,...

i dont know if its a recognised technique, its just something i realised i do when deeply involved in a book,..

the wife watches me as i read in bed and says, "you cant possibly be reading that!"

and it a way,...i,m not READING it but just LOOKING at it,....but it still goes in,...and i can get through a page in 4 or 5 seconds , without losing the enjoyment,...

i do occasionally go back over the more descriptive stuff but not as often as you'd think,..

it takes a page to get it rolling and if you look up or think about it too much it stops , and you have to get it rolling again,.....

does anyone else do this?,...

haha am i making sense?.....no,...well i know what i mean,.....hahahahaha

It's called speed reading... I can do it to a certain degree but I try not to when I'm reading a book I'm really into as I like to really immerse myself in it :)
