Photos from my pre dawn walk today - we have enough snow that branches of trees are bent down to the road surface and I can hear trees cracking in the woods.
I hope it stays long enough for me to get into the woods in daylight!
Amazing! Very jealous. My wife’s from Colorado and since she moved here at the start of 2020 we have had about 1” of snow maximum, so she’s really itching for some of the proper stuff. Apparently ‘grey with drizzle’ isn’t quite the same.
By daylight
These are the woods I play in ... some small stuff broken by the weight of snow but I tracked a rabbit, some mice and perhaps a badger - but the tracks were so beaten up from melting snow coming off the trees they would not photo well
On the road up to the woods there were bigger bits down ...
Overnight freeze - but now it is thawing ... but in the reduced snow I tracked a fox for a while, until the prints were lost in melt-fall from the trees...
We had a dusting of snow during the night too..........even started snowing earlier this morning, got all dressed up for a snowy walk & it stopped 10 minutes after.
