I have a question about the single hoop pole set of which I have to replace on mine own due to longitudinal cracks in some sections and one completely broken section of which is what an unattended tractor did when it ran over the tent, a brake failure issue I understand and I watched it roll.
The question I have is based on the fact that in buying mine in the year the thing was first released (1985 I think), I had a completely straight pole set yet I notice much online states the apex pole section was pre curved, yet mine was not and some blurb about having a straight pole at the apex will alter the tent's pitch and tension, to need to ask would it be an improvement to have a curved section there or should I just stick with what is original to my tent?
Has anyone with an original Spacepacker Plus that had straight poles replaced with the curved section and well, what are your thoughts?
