Under a tree
Hey guys,

My GAS has flared up again and I've been whiling away time searching for a new backpack. I've had trouble finding something that works well.

I used to have a 18l climbing rucksack, it was sturdy and lightweight but I didn't like the belt strap, or the zippers. I tried using the alpine lowe sting sidepouchs during a minimalist phase, I liked it using just one pouch but I missed some compartmentalization. Tried a Maxped versipack for a few more months, but now the opposite, too many subdivisions.

I liked not having a sweaty back but having a shoulder bag has it's downsides too, noteably that it sucks on a skateboard or bike, or even running, and that all the weight is on one shoulder.

So I think I want to go back to a backpack. Ideally I'd like something that breaths well against your back or has a small 'footprint'. 10-18l. Atleast 2 divisions. Nothing tactical - I'd prefer natural materials. The lighter the better. Also some way to attach a helmet to the outside securely would be handy.

Can anyone think of anything that would fit the bill?

I have a karrimor sabre hydro 25 or 30L. Very comfy decent waist belt with pockets on each belt. 5 or 6 pockets in total a strong mesh front flap that may take a helmet and is designed for biking ect as it curves with you back rather than feeling rigid. You can also sit comfortably while wearing it.
I was thinking of selling it as i dont get out on the bike much.
Cheers ash

I've just picked up a 5.11 MOAB 6 for dog walking and day bimbles and so far it's working out great. Organisation's great for all my bits and bobs and loads of room in it for water/brew kit etc.

here's a link to one on Heinnie's (no connection etc ..) -LINK-

I have a Gregory Wasatch (?) about 12 litres. Seems to fit your description. Highly recommended!
