A mate of mine gave me a new receipt for Charcloth. I tried it out today and thought I would pass it on.
The norm for Charcloth is to use cotton linen, but in this method replace it with an old Hessian sand bag.
Turn the sand bag into Charcloth the same as usual.
Because the cloth is not as fine woven as cotton, it allows more air to pass through it, so when it comes to passing a source of ignition over the top it goes up!!!.

Another advantage of Hessian, is that you can separate the strands from the main body with ease (with a small stick), which means you use less.

Try it and let me know…

Good tip, just need to find some old sand bags, potatoe sacks or coal bags.

Its a pity that most of these types of product are now being supplied in plastic type bags and not the traditional style bags which are far more durable and reusable.

Cheers
