I just read in a Swedish newspaper that they this year they have found the first migratory birds carrying ticks with the Alkhumra virus in Europr
Those birds migrated to Europr from Africa over Turkey.
That virus causes a disease called Hemorrhagic fever. Around 25-30% mortality in humans, but so far very, very rare.
I hope this will not become endemic like Lymes, and does not spread by birds to other parts of Europe!
Edit: correction
