Aldi laplander type saw

Hi all,
Any views or opinions one these as a cheaper alternative to the laplander or similar, especially for a beginner like me ?

I got the pair last year, they are ok for the money. The fine toothed saw is better for green wood. Buy them as they wont break the bank.

Definitely a good buy, I've had one for a couple of years now. I think I bought the medium teeth but I've used it on green and dry wood to good effect.

They aren't bad at all.

Not as good as a Laplander, but a lot better than a Gerber one that I paid over £20 for.

I bought a couple of these a year or so ago for our scouts, they have survived the camps and the leaders and still hold a good edge. Well worth the money for a start as pull saws can feel odd if you are used to a push saw.

In the ad it says £4.99 each ( 2 pack). Do you get 2 saws or an extra blade?

Last year(i think) when the offer was on, it was a pack with 2 saws, one for green wood, and one for dry.

Mine recently fell apart, just be aware of the pin that holds the locking catch, can come loose/fall out, i would suggest some adhesive on either end would help prevent this.
