Playing about with stoves again, I bought some of this

(actually a lot of stove wick material for the money, if it works then I will be very happy, we will see, needs testing)

Now I need screw-top tins of different sizes to play about with.

Any good cheap sources for tins ?

Just for testing there are loads of Aluminium containers like drink cans, deodorant tins, T candle cases etc that make smashing stoves for free. Once you have a size in mind and you must have a screw lid you can get the one you need without having to get all the sizes.

After experimenting, it looks like I may be able to get the screwtop aluminium tins for about 40p each or less if I buy 5or 6 at a time, Aliexpress.
