Hi all.
For sale is a truly beautiful Alan Wood Woodlore.
This is in a really amazing stabilised maple, with amazing grain and a tapered tang with brass loveless bolts.
Original leather sheath, beautifully finished with yellow thread.
This knife design set the way for all that followed. Built up by the master knife maker Alan Wood to Ray Mears specification, these knives have become true collectors pieces, yet still able to be worked hard.
Bought from Alan Wood directly last year, this comes with the original sales document, detailing this one of a kind build.
Why is it a one of a kind…? Because Alan Wood agreed to use his half only of his very last Ray Mears / Alan wood / Woodlore etch on this knife, as can be seen in the photos. I asked Alan to build this up as the ultimate version of his Woodlore design, the best that he had ever offered it, in terms of handle thickness / palm swells etc.

I’d like £950 for this.

I have been offered approx this price for this knife previously, but wasn’t wishing to sell it back then.
I would definitely be able to do a deal for anyone wanting this plus the others I have for sale on here, a Jacklore Classic in maple and a Jacklore Camp Knife in Walnut.
Of course, over 18’s only. Prices include postage.

Many thanks for looking and please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Briar.

Not wanting to dampen the fun, but @briar87, make sure that you can actually ship the knife outside the UK before accepting payment from an international buyer. In 2017 I had a knife I advertised on Blade Forums and after the sale was made, I found that DHL, UPS and Fedex would not accept the knife (not a kitchen knife). I was able to ship by Parcel Force at the time, but since then they changed their rules to prohibit all bladed items from both domestic and international.

Thank you for that info. I will check before agreeing any sale with an overseas buyer. Thanks.

Can you confirm you are able to ship to the US?
Hi again. It’s looking very unlikely unfortunately. It seems some people have had success by describing the item as a tool or cutlery and not being specific, but there are also horror stories of the item being seized and destroyed unfortunately. For that reason, and it pains me to say, but I don’t think it’s wise to try and send the knife overseas. We could be setting ourselves up for major disappointment on both sides.
Is there someone in the UK I could send it to for you, with whom you could liase delivery to USA, if you are willing to try?

Many thanks.

I have received and sent knives between the UK and the Netherlands without problems. In the EU customs list, there is an option for "woodworking tool". If you use that on the correct form, print it out and put that it on the package there should be no issue. Maybe you can use that for the USA?

Thanks for that info. Really interesting and sounds like sound advice. I think however, I’d prefer just to keep the knife within the UK, just to ensure there are no delivery issues. Sandy at Jacklore also doesn’t send oversees.
