BSA Meteors are a pretty good rifle, I have one in my rifle cabinet along with my PCPs and CO2 rifles.

Well worth some TLC to get it back to its former self.

Value, not vast, I paid about £100 all in for mine, including scope, pellets and bag. it will cost about £50 to get it reasonable at a guess, but it might be as well to get a gunsmith to look at it first.

As Wingstoo says they are a decent rifle. I have a Meteor MK5 but I have no idea on value as I inherited it from my best mate when he was killed in a bike accident so understandably I wouldn't part with mine as it has a lot of sentimental value for me. It does go out hunting with me quite often although it hasn't been performing very well lately and could do with an overhaul. I'm in the process of buying a complete rebuild kit for it (I'm hoping to collect the bits on Monday from a local supplier).

You can tell the model by the serial number prefix.

Mk1 = N & T 1959-62
Mk2 = NA & TA 1962-68
Mk3 = NB & TB - NG & TG 1966-73
Mk4 = NB & TB - NG & TG 1974-79
Mk5 = NH & TH 1979-93
Mk6 = ZE & WE 1993-2012
Mk7 = QF 2012 to date
