Interesting stuff. I've often 'almost' bought a roll of Rescue Tape.

http://www.rescuetape.com/

If the claims are true, the Adventure Tape looks very versatile. After my bad experience with a titanium hip flask punted on Kickstarter that certainly didn't live up to the hype, I'll not be crowd funding anything there again. If things go wrong, it's almost impossible to contact them, and they hold no responsibility. Crowd funding, particularly on something like a titanium flask, should have rung alarm bells.

Tape shouldn't be a problem, I'm just wary now.

Yeah, they've made their funding, so waiting til is generally available seems sensible.
Plus the early adopters get to figure out any weaknesses to it. :D

Rescue Tape is cool, or the generic name of self fusing silicone tape (as sold by B&Q etc)

There's some similar stuff keeps popping up on facebook, i almost bought a roll until you read the reviews on places like amazon. Then i became a bit skeptical, so until the price drops ill survive.

Just read the Comment section on the Adventure Tape KS, and this stuff comes up. It's adhesive so only can use it once, as opposed to this adventure stuff.

This Kickstarter from a UK company just came across my radar.

The tape seems like it'd be extremely useful.

It's bondage tape.
Well, it looks like it.
Look, the only reason I know about this stuff is I was helping someone clear out their storage and found a roll of strong, stretchy, non-adhesive tape in their stuff. It looked really useful, so I asked them what it was and where they had got it from. They were a little embarrassed . . .

:offtopic:

How enviromentally safe is it? [Boring bit coming up!]

But the extent of microscopic plastics now found on our planet is crazy. Sea plankton swallows it. Its in our tap water. We drink plastic. Its everywhere. Apparently when you shove a fleece or whatever into the dryer, and it spews out steam, there are endless micro particles of plastic thrown up into the atmosphere, and then it rains back down, and it so small it doesnt get filtered out. We breath in plastic as well. Its in our lungs. And its so small they reckon it could enter our cells and organs.

A good reason to go down the cotton, wool, leather route for clothing...

Their reply saying that bondage tape has virtually no stretch is wrong - the stuff I had picked up had plenty of stretch. I think it is exactly what they are selling. Seriously doubt bondage tape is made from latex; lots of people react to latex.

Wikipedia says mostly latex, but seems like PVC seems to be what is actually sold in stores... just looked at ann summers website.

The company behind this are Urethane specialists ( http://wattspolyurethane.co.uk/ ) , so pretty sure they're using polyurethane.

That stuff looks like a bigger and badder version of bondage tape
