I had planned to do Alpkit's event, but that had been cancelled. However I have the holiday booked so was looking for something else. I spotted the guys from the Wilderness gathering have a stand there and thought it might be good. Has anyone else got any experience of the event? Anyone else going?

I went last year. Was 99% vehicle-based travel stuff but a really good day out.
Plenty of people in novel and impressive overland campers, from old vans to £250k military-style specials. A few motorbike explorers too.
A couple of bushy types were there inc woodland ways but they were in the minority. Not a huge amount of bushy stuff on other stands but you could buy toughbooks, big solar panels and all sorts of truck add-ons.
I enjoyed it but I went for the vehicle stuff and to meet a friend.

I went last year and thought it was a great show, if you like vehicle dependent travel, it's for you.

If I was not up in Scotland I would be there again this year.
