Aye.
A perfect opportunity for users of a famous Internet auction site to get their Alan Wood signed. Just before they're sent to jail without passing Go.

Is this proposed meet to be a full BCUK Aberdeenshire Meet, with folk coming from all over the country, or just a few 'locals' going for a weekend in the woods ?
If it to be a larger meet then I suggest Back o' Bennachie as a good venue, there is ample car parking and mains water there, and the Forestry Commission allow the Scouts to run similar events there. Also it is near to Archaeolink, which would be of interest to folk who are into re-enactment and living history.
Just my 2p worth :)
Doug.

I've had various D of E expeditions based there; its a good site, now with a 'wild camping' area as well as barbeques...but no mains water; the water in the 'lavvies' is taken straight off of the hill!

Nice cave on Craigshannoch though...admittedly with low headroom lol

Absolutely perfect for bivvying; but the kids aren't at that stage yet. Sheltered in the woods below Little Oxen Craig last weekend; couldn't handle another night of flapping.

The idea has always been to catch a midsummer sunrise, but bed has always been too comfortable.

Aye....I know that feeling! I'm full of good intentions, most evenings, to nip out of the house early next morning and shin up Craigshannoch to see the sunrise. Its a pity that the cave is north-facing; had it faced east, you could have watched the sun rise ower Mither Tap fae your bivvy. Maybe see you up there sometime.
