A truly magical wildlife moment! (Picc Heavy of a Stoat)

So there I was, strolling around in the woods....sun starting to dip......... and a cock pheasant desides to come out and crow a bit

Just about to lower the camera when a little face pop up behind him

It was one of the "don't breathe" moments..then it scampered...towards me

And kept coming......

And coming......

Stunning.....left me with a pounding heart....

Walked up through the woods with BB and disturbed a Roe family

And then stumbled over loads and loads of Morels

Carlsberg don't make evening strolls. But if they did...................

Just got a D90 on saturday, went out for a few strolls but unless people want to see a few sheep and hills then i am going to disapoint :-(

According to the wikipedia stoats will eat squirrels and animals larger than themselves and store up what's left until later. I figure he was considering some british red for the larder....

I am sooooo jealous! I haven't found a single morel yet this year, and have NEVER seen a stoat!

Someone on another site I visit, recently said that Morels come out at about the time of year when the oak leaves are the size of a mouses ear, creased me up that one.
