I was out visiting a project today where we've got a team clearing an overgrown area full of vegetation and dumped rubbish when I spied this beauty on the rubbish pile
So I obviously rescued it from being dumped with everything else, saw the beneficiary and asked if he minded if I took it. He was more than happy to see it going to a good home where it'll be lovingly brought back to use
For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a 13" or 35cm cast iron griddle or bakestone that's about 3/8" or 10mm thick and weighs a load... no lightweight camping with this for sure In the first picture you can see there's some pitted spots in the centre and top right quarter that appear to be from when it was cast but the other side is in pretty good shape
There's a picture below as well of the one I currently have in action. The one I've just got is about 3" bigger in diameter and twice as thick so it's going to make a real difference to the pizzas and other items I can cook under the fire
