light brown, tight woven but not too thick or heavy...about medium weight

Its 56 by 44 inches, so not big enough for a lukha...Which is what I need.

What might I do with it?

Sounds like what's called a skirt length. Depends on the size of the person you want to make for. I'm a lardy so I'd get a waist coat out of it but for my lads ( 12 to a tall 15 ) I've made trousers from them, short jackets, lined a oblong cloak.

I've several in store, if it says pure wool on the selvage I tend to buy them (in charity shops for a couple of quid) when they turn up. Unless you actually want a skirt they are too small to make anything man sized like a jacket or long tailed shirt.

Saddly most I now come across now are mixed fibres so no good if you want to use around fires. The little old ladies I tend to buy from have always let me take some threads to do a burn test and we have been horrified how violently some of them burn, like firing a piece of cordex!
