Howdy i thought i would stick up some pics of a wee bowl i made from a bit of beech. It started out to be a sort of Kuksa but i didn't like the way it looked so it was then going to be a canoe cup....again i didn't like the way it looked. So i decided to turn it into a wee bowl that i'm going to gift to my mother in law for her new house.:)

I really need to get myself an adze cos digging this out with a spoon knife was murder :(

Lovely piece Scott, and I agree with you making bowls with only a spoon knife, can be quite the murderous task, but hey a great way to build muscle ^^.
An Adze is a great tool to have on your side, too bad that they are so expensive..

Very nice bowl. In the shop, I prefer using a bent gouge and mallet, especially if the wood is seasoned.

Bob, that was my first thought... ;)

Bob never thought of that :lmao:

Andy might just do that. I have one of Ben's knifes and i pleased with that so i might get one from him.

Ruud yeah don't i know it they are so expensive i might need to sell somethings to pay for one. :(

Hoodoo the wood was seasoned for about 3 years but i don't have a workshop at the moment so everything is done on my knee in the back garden..

Cheers for the comments folks
Scott
