Britannia!
Seval months back when my family and i were homeless, we ended up staying at a relatives place. While we were there we made contact with other relatives/friends and one in particular had fallen seriously I'll in the past. As with all mental health problems this person was met with all sorts of cruel and ignorant comments from certain family members. Even after 'recovering' there were certain words used at the dinner party table that upset me and annoyed me. Even thoufh they weren't meant to be rude, they certainly were.

Anyway, i always make the effort to treat people with respect and not to judge them withou good cause. I made the effort to talk with this person, to try and open them up a little and do my best to socialise with everyone. Unlike the others who ignored and waffled on by themselves..

The next day, there was a knock on the door and a package given to my wife for me by this person.

This was inside!

Because I treated people with respect and understanding (and bored them with my interest in tools and woodwork) I was kindly gifted this set as a token of appreciation.

I haven't played with it yet as I've never carved a figure before but im eager to get some practice in soon!

Maybe we should all be a little nicer to one another? I know I'll continue to help others!

Thanks for reading.

Sam

That's great and well deserved- good on you! It's a cracking set that! And you're right it's dog eat dog these days and humanity would do better to be kind to each other and the forum is a great example of that :).

Thanks guys, I thought it was a lovely gesture.

I always try to help and be respectful to others but this is the first time ive ever been given something in return. Not that I ask for stuff obviously but the gift 2as really special. And its an awesome set to have!

Just need to extract my digit and get some wood to practice on. I reckon.. A woodspirit!

Nice to see karma doing its bit!
You so rarely hear of people doing the right thing (probably because, like you, they don't blow their trumpet all the time) and even more rarely hear of people being rewarded for it.
You probably made them feel good for a change and they wanted to repay in kind. Good work fella :)
