Hi all,
Been a while since I posted something I made here so thought I would share this.
It's nothing special but some good friends just had their first baby and I wanted to make something to mark the occasion.
I had some small seasoned oak logs going spare (yes cutting it by hand took as long as you would imagine) that I cut and sanded.
I wanted to add an inscription but my chip carving is abysmal so thought I would try pyrography for the first time with an old soldering iron.
I stupidly oiled and waxed the thing first and found I couldn't burn in any lines so resorted to the dotted pattern you can see.
All in all I'm quite pleased with it and hoping it goes down well when we visit this weekend.
Cheers, Hamster
