Thanks mac. I`ll have to admit to sanding this one though.

Nothing in the least wrong with sanded finishing - I almost always do it for anything that's going to be in my mouth; I just find the completely smooth and then oiled finish has a much nicer "mouth-feel" than a tooled one.

Mind you, that probably says a lot about the inadequacies of my tooling techniques!..................atb mac
