Now kittens can be influenced as they are not yet fully developed. I trained a kitten to bring back a small ball every time I threw it. He would bring me mice too. Not one of my favorite fares though.

id advise to try your taming experiment with a maine coon,they tend to be playfull and somewhat "doglike" and as an added bonus are one of the larger "tame" species.

Have you considered a Lemming farm?

It might take you a few years to complete their training, but once instilled in the older generation surely the parents would train their offspring to follow suit.

Don't know how you'd go about their training, but the idea is to get them to raise the next generation, then skin themselves and jump in the pot.

(Do they sell Lemming skin coats?)
