I was walking along yesterday, and a cranefly flew up, disturbed by my steps. Except it wasn't a single cranefly, it was two, mating. They seemed to have a disagreement over which side of a tall grass stem to fly, and unfortunately went one each side. They got stuck, and neither wanted to give in. I managed to capture their struggle, mainly thanks to a handy buttercup which provided a nice backdrop for the pictures.
I'm not sure who won the argument, as it was still ongoing when I left.
