I was walking along yesterday, and a cranefly flew up, disturbed by my steps. Except it wasn't a single cranefly, it was two, mating. They seemed to have a disagreement over which side of a tall grass stem to fly, and unfortunately went one each side. They got stuck, and neither wanted to give in. I managed to capture their struggle, mainly thanks to a handy buttercup which provided a nice backdrop for the pictures.

I'm not sure who won the argument, as it was still ongoing when I left. :D

So it would seem the insect kingdom has certain things in common with humans then. So glad I wasn't married to a praying mantis. :lmao:

Great pix Mike, that buttercup really made a nice backdrop. What camera do you use? Not that I'm a camera buff at all, just curious.

Thanks Aaron. I use my Canon EOS 1100D with a Tamron telemacro, all in point-and-shoot mode. Sometimes it works. :)

You can just hear the row, can't you?
"I said left!"
"Well I went left!"
"I meant the other left!"
"You idiot! Here, let me pull you up..."
"Owwww! That hurts! Come this way instead"
"No, not that way, aaaarrrggghhh!"
....

Ahaaaaa the Canon eh? My ex got herself the EOS 550D and loves it. She took macro pix all the time when she was here in France, had a few exhibitions of her stuff too. Here's her Redbubble gallery if you're interested.

Yeah I can hear that same dialogue going on with those pictures

Would it have killed you to ask for directions?
But I'm not lost!
So where are we then?
We're ... here.
You mean u s#it creek?
Uhhhh sort of.
