its the engine that makes it cheep. the 2.5 turbo was land rovers first crack at a turbocharged engine and it wasn't a success, cracked engine blocks etc...

Sadly this was all too true, but at that price well worth a punt, it's not prohibitively costly to re-engine if the need ever arose, which it won;t need in sensible use. These vehicles are often as good as their owners and the way they treat them.

I have a county station wagon you can have for £600, lol.

Love landies, they have such character and this one has been really reliable and useful (i.e., it's had a hard life).

2.5 turbo engine - starts fine, but once warm there is a knocking sound and power drops off.

Doors really rusty.
Bulkhead rusty.

Transmission, suspension, chassis fine. Caveat emptor.
