I met some loggers who had lit a big bonfire in a local wood to burn the remnants of their work (a shame as quite enough wood to heat my house for the winter but no easy way of transporting it). I posted about this in a different forum on February 16th

Walked to the same spot today & it's still smouldering! I reckon they'd burnt some tyres in there as there was loads of wire but we've had quite a bit of rain since... Must be charcoal under all the ash...

Depending on what the soil substructure is, a fire that big can set the ground on fire and these fire can burn for months even years, so if it has been burning for that long report it
