[h=2]Good King Raymond last looked out
On the feast of Tony
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and downy
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a bush man came in sight
Gath'ring winter fuel
[/h]

( you'll never sing it the same again ! :) LOL ! )

Away in a manger?

Away, in a hammock
no duvet 'neath me,
the little bushcrafter
struggled up for a pee,

the stars in the bright sky
looked down where he lay
and shone down their starlight
to show him the way

I'm dreaming of a bushcraft Christmas :christmas1:
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the tarps glisten:hatscarf:
And bushcrafters listen:deal:
To hear bushcraft tales in the snow

I'm dreaming of a bushcraft Christmas
With every camp fire i light:campfire:
May your hammocks be comfy and bright :hammock:
And may all your meet ups feel right.:camping:

Oh 'ell
Oh 'ell
Oh 'ell, Oh 'ell
I just brushed my teeth with my fire-lighting gel!

It stings an' it smells
Oh 'ell, Oh 'ell
Next time ill use colgate not firelighting gel

Ding dong! merrily on high
In the trees Ray and Bear are swinging:
Ding dong! verily the fire
Is cooking the Christmas pudding.

Ding dong! merrily on high
The Bushie lords are singing
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is full of angels cringing.

Ding dong! merrily on high
The Rough Close Meeters are grinning:
The Unusual Suspects all creep nye
Their doughty axes swinging.

Ding dong! merrily on high
Their axes roar like thunder;

Ding dong! Ray and Bear do fly
As whoopie slings are rent asunder.

To: Onward Christian Soldiers...

(Verse 1 is also the chorus)

Onward all bushcrafters
Marching to the woods
With our bulging rucksacks,
Full of bushy goods.

See the big dutch oven
Filled with mutton stew
Serve it with some bannock
And an ale or two.

[Chorus]

Sitting round the campfire
Telling tales of yore
Then into our hammocks
Please try not to snore.

Breakfast is some bacon,
Two asprins or three?
Moan about the snoring
And the need to pee.

[Chorus]

Packing up our campsite
Farewell one and all
We'll meet up the next time
That the woodlands call.

[Chorus]

Merry Christmas everyone, and a bushy new year :camping:

....had completely forgotten about this... Will recap and announce the winner shortly.

I have a tricky decision to make given I don't think "onward Christian soldiers" is technically a Christmas carol?

Do you know, that never occurred to me? Oops.

Well, on that basis, I will consider myself disqualified. Especially since other efforts were a lot funnier than mine.

It was a great idea for a comp though :D
