I like the idea of the whistle vs cork. All the cork does is get dirty. Handy to pour with though

Cheers for the group buy sandbag, my 4 1/2 year old nephew Owen is fully kitted out as well as the rest of the family. Having a great time with the hammocks in Galloway.image.jpg

Trying mine out tonight. No tarp though as the 3x3 won't fit in my pergola

Picked up my order from the local Royal Mail depot on Saturday.....can't wait to try it out.

Thanks to sandbag & the DD Hammocks crew for doing a group buy again this year.

My underquilt got its first use this weekend camping out at Sandiway on Cheshire Hike base-camp, got the usual stick from all the tent campers, "how can you sleep in that", "you'll get cold" and so on and so forth but found out much to my amusement that most of them work up shivering with frost on their tents (hit under below 0 and clear last night) and yet I woke up toasty as anything...also with frost but unlike them I wasn't shivering like a jessie :p

Did you use an insulating mat as well?

I did have my thermarest in to start with, just to pull the hammock out but ended up taking it out not long after i got into the hammock.

Interesting that a thin under quilt did well in freezing conditions without a mat. I have both the DD and the Snugpak which I have rigged together before. Snug as a bug in an, urm, hammock.
